How Does it Work?

Are you ready to make a profound shift in your life TODAY?

Lets Start with Hypnosis

Have you ever sat around a campfire listening to ghost stories, fully engaged in the experience? Or perhaps you recall getting lost in a captivating book or movie, where the storyteller transported you to a special time and place or evoked a vision of how things could or should be? Did time seem to disappear?

You may also remember not recalling how you arrived at a destination, as your unconscious mind made the necessary driving adjustments while your conscious mind took a brief vacation.

These are trance states, perfectly normal phenomena we have experienced since the dawn of time. A skilled hypnotist will guide you into this state, considering your values and desires to create an outcome

that is right for you.

Getting past the firewall

In short, trance is any moment where there is direct communication with the unconscious part of the mind without the direct involvement of the conscious part. However, there is a firewall between them, similar to a bouncer at a nightclub. This bouncer is your "critical faculty," and the hypnotist's job is to soften this burly guy up enough to pass on messages to the people inside the club.

It's all up to you

Regardless of what you have seen on stage or screen, you will not cluck like a dog or bark like a tree (unless you genuinely want to) because all hypnosis is self-hypnosis. During stage and street show performances, there is an expectation of those being entertained and volunteering to engage in everything the performance offers. While these shows are genuine and fun, your personal intention sets the boundaries, and you are always in complete control of everything you say or do.

For example, in an emergency, you can awaken, be alert, and handle the situation. Additionally, you will not accept suggestions that do not resonate with your intention, as this will cause the critical faculty (remember the nightclub bouncer?) to engage, bringing you out of trance. If you keep secrets, trance will not act as a truth serum, and you will not disclose anything you would not share in a waking state.

You are also not under the control of the hypnotist, and they are not doing this to you; they are doing this with you to realize your specific goals, whether that be acting silly on a stage or making profound life changes in a clinical setting.

That said, it does require a commitment and a willingness from you to accomplish your specific goals.

How I work...

I have experience and training in many forms of hypnotic work, and the more I see, the more I am convinced that mental pain manifests as physical pain when it is not adequately dealt with. Sure, you can break a bone or stub your toe; these are forms of acute pain that have a definite cause. Still, when trauma, either in the form of micro trauma like constant stress at work, or in the form of macro trauma like a car crash, is not resolved healthily, it tends to manifest as sometimes severe and chronic aches and pains in the body that have no real cause. The mind, body, and spirit are integral and I believe to be one; however, through the accumulation of trauma, the three separate, and we feel disconnected, like we are just going through the motions of life. By reconnecting with the body and softly listening to what it has to say through somatic practice, we can erase the illusion of separation to live a more fulfilling life.

Sessions may include proven modalities, such as timeline, regression, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), or other therapeutic techniques. Still, I've found Ego State or Parts work, combined with a Somatic experience, to be very effective.

Imagine a ship with a large crew. Some are on the bridge, some are below deck, and some may be deep in the bowels or hiding as stowaways. There is only one in command, the captain, but the captain may need a rest now and then or require the expertise of another and switches off with a trusted crew member. This analogy is roughly how your mind works. In a normal mind, these healthy states switch in and out all day. One may like to wash dishes, another likes to write in a journal, and yet another loves to walk the dog or play with the cat. In NLP, they are referred to as "parts." At the same time, some may refer to them as "ego or resource states," but whatever you choose, know that there can only be one in command at any given time. As you are fully aware of all these states, this is not dissociative identity disorder.

The problem arises when the ego states from below deck or the stowaways take command of the ship. These are often emotionally traumatized in some way and really don't want to be captain, but, due to an unknown trigger or event, find themselves there anyway. Feelings of anger, sadness, or anxiety may arise for seemingly no reason, followed later by feelings of remorse or sorrow. However, through hypnosis, we can change the way these states operate and reintegrate them into the upper decks, allowing them to be a productive part of the crew.

Making the Shift...

Through clearing trauma with somatic practice and ego state reintegration, we eliminate limiting beliefs, integrate mind, body, and spirit, and find the source of love within, allowing you to heal, find freedom, and show up as your best self in the world.
